Welcome. Sanyo Denki was founded in 1927 and in 1960 was the first company to begin mass producing stepper motors, beginning with a VR (variable reluctance) motor with a 15O step angle.
Since those early days, Sanyo Denki has become the sleeping giant of the industry, producing over 800 different models for applications running from disk drives, printers, medical equipment, machine tools, to specialty motors for use in outer space and in clean rooms for sub-micron machining.
Millions of Sanyo Denki stepper motors are in the field working hard and reliably everday. Today in 2003, extraordinary factory automation enables Sanyo Denki to produce 500,000 stepper motors a month! If you need one motor or thousands, we can provide World Class ISO 9002 stepper motors for your project or product.
Of their 800 different models, I have selected those Step-Syn® 'H' Series Hybrid Stepper Motors over the last 48 months which have found greatest favour as candidates for CNC retro-fits and new CNC machine designs. They use the more commonly available and economical two phase drivers and software, and range from a Nema 11, 4.5 ounce/inch, up to a Nema size 42, 2,690 ounce/inch brute (which only needs a 6 amp driver!).
With ease of selection, very competitive prices, and our exclusive Value Pac discounts, your time here may well save you hundreds of dollars. All our motors are shown with an Index value next to the price of the motor. This cuts throught the smoke and mirrors by showing you the cost per ounce/inch for each motor, and enables an easy comparison with published prices found on the Net, and in distributors catalogs in the last three months.
If you don't find the stepper motor you are looking for, just send a request in from the order form. Many steppers are stocked which are not listed on this site, including 50MM and Five Phase models.

Our simplified stock numbering system identifies each motor instantly. As an example, here is our Nema Size 34, 720 oz/in., 6 amp, single shaft, bi-polar motor. Here's how it works.
Example for stock # 346-720-SB

| Ounce inches of holding torque rounded off. |
| The third digit(s) indicates the motor's amperage. |

So, if you already have 2 amp driver boards and want to upgrade your motors to take advantage of quieter running more powerful Step-Syn® 'H' Series motors, just look at the third digit for the coil amperage! All S.D.A. Step-Syn® 'H' Series steppers from Nema 23 and up come in integral coil amperages of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 amps.
I think you'll find this site easy to navigate, easy to read, and easy to find the right motors for your requirements at the right price. The motors chosen for this program will cover 99% of known CNC power requirements, and are priced as low as 25 cents per ounce/inch! I welcome your comments or suggestions and hope you enjoy your visit. Thank You.
